Five Shirts and Strawberries
“Eileen, can you get up and help me?” I jerked awake, and
there was poor Leland dripping wet in his own sweat, his side of the bed
soaked. We changed the sheets, put a
draw sheet on and a towel over his pillow, and went back to bed. During the rest of the night this happened
several times, although not quite to the extent as the first one. He ended up using 5 T shirts, two towels, 3
sheets, all which are in the washing machine.
I am very thankful for a washing machine! This has happened several other times, although
a three shirt night has been more standard.
According to Dr. D, this is all good, toxins are being removed, so we
are thankful for that also.
A big thank you to Pat-next-door for a bag of lettuce and kale out of her organic
garden. And to Dolly and Stanton, the early
organic greenhouse strawberries were delicious, and very much enjoyed by both
of us. Especially nice since Leland has been struggling with nausea, and sometimes
not able to eat much. Today we will use the chard, looking forward to that too!
Also, a big thank you to those who continue to pray for
us, and send little notes, you are appreciated more than we can say.
We are thankful for simple natural things like ginger,
which seems to be quite effective.
And finally this profound paraphrase from Jesus Calling page 163:
Welcome challenging
times as opportunities to trust Me. You
have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too
much for you to handle. When the path
before you is dotted with difficulties, beware of measuring your strength
against those challenges. That
calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety. Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the
first hurdle!
The way to walk
through demanding days is to grip My hand tightly and stay in close
communication with Me. Let your thoughts
and spoken words be richly flavored with trust and thankfulness. Regardless of the day’s problems, I can keep
you in perfect Peace as you stay close to Me.
James 1:2, Philippians 4:13, Isaiah
26:3
Blessing~and perfect peace in Jesus.
ReplyDeleteYou two are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. It is good that the toxins are coming out - a sign that the treatments are working. Love you both.

You're such a trooper, Mom! Keep it up. And look into catnip tea for nausea, too. It really helped me back when I was sick a lot. Love you! XO
ReplyDeleteEileen, I love the scriptures your quote. They are so comforting. Yes and catnip tea.
